My Android tablet refuses to go to any internet website, saying it's not connected. Yet my connection page says it IS connected to the wifi in my home. I've checked all cords; everything seems secure. What could be going on here? Thanks.

Solution
A device which is showing successfully connected to your home WiFi does not necessarily mean it's also connected to the internet, so there is no contradiction there as you seem to think there is.

Try restarting the wireless router and wait until it shows all OK on the diagnostic lights.

Now restart your tablet (i mean power it down and restart, not just turning of the screen).

When your tablet has restarted, try the WiFi connection again.

(I am assuming you already entered the WiFi password on your tablet didn't you?)

Hi, everyone, and thanks....nothing seemed to be working. My internet provider tried to get it fixed and finally insisted there is something wrong with the router and it may need to be replaced. I had to call the router company. After a great deal of time trying to get things resolved unsuccessfully, I made a fine decision. I thanked everyone and proceeded to disconnect the router and reconnect my internet the way it used to be, through the modem. I now have peace of mind. Since I didn't really purchase this tablet to use at home, why am I bothering with this? I can use it elsewhere with someone else's wifi. I have wasted (once again) at least two hours today on technical matters. So now this is one less complication I have in my life. BUT I really thank you both for trying to be of assistance! By the way, is anyone in the market for an almost-new Linksys router? I have one! It might work better for you than for me....;o)
