Low Frames in arma 3 and dayz

I have an alienware m17x r4 with an nvidia 680m 2gb graphics card and a 3.1 ghz 6mb cache Intel processor inside along with 12 gb of ram. Even with this, I get frames between 20-30 in DayZ standalone and 40-50 in arma 3 with lowest settings on each. Why with my parts do I still get these low frames? I upgraded my graphics card to the 680 in hopes of playing all of my games at high fps. Unlike all others, arma and DayZ showed no fps improvement after this upgrade. Does anyone have any idea what I have to upgrade or what I can do to make these games run smoothly?

So what would it take to run it smoothly? And why no improvement after gfx card upgrade?

only thing is lower settings and dayz is a very badly optimized game as it is still in its early stages

also check nvidia control panel to see there isn't any forced settings to the games

i don't think you can upgrade the cpu on a laptop so that isn't a option but the cpu is pretty good the problems are it is a laptop so the gpu isn't as good as a desktop one but i already said the games are crap optimized nothing can be done since the laptop cant be upgraded

I can upgrade the processor if I need to and have already upgraded the gfx card.
