Whenever im using Unreal Engine 4 editor or playing a game made in Unreal Engine 4 my Galax EXOC GTX 970 buzzes really loudly but in any other game which also puts it at 99% usage it doesn't. My temps stay low (Below 65 degrees) and its not my fans as even if I manually turn down my fan speeds while using Unreal Engine 4 its still making the same buzzing noise. I've also capped everything at 120fps.

It doesnt even sound like coil whine its more of an electrical buzz. I have a 650w Corsair Bronze Rated power supply.

Are you sure it's not your PSU instead of your GPU? I've had this problem once when I had the SuperNOVA 750B. PSU kept giving me coil whine, thinking that it was my GPU that was the culprit. When you try Unreal Engine 4 again, try putting your ear in the back of the computer and make sure it's not your PSU. Because if it is, I'd get a better PSU.

Ive tried that but its really hard to work out where its coming from because of how close they are and the noise seems to kind of spread. Ive tried numerous times to locate it and I just cant work out which one its coming from.

Thanks

Thanks! Im almost certain its the PSU after doing that, it is very loud from the back vent near where the power cable goes in. Im a bit annoyed because this is the 3rd replacement part im getting in only a few months and I bought this one second hand so I cant even RMA it. Any recommendations for a reliable PSU 650w or over? The cheaper the better whilst still being reliable

just out of curiosity, whats the exact model of your psu? Most of Corsairs line-up is pretty good, but the CX series was done cheaply and that shows sometimes. HX and AX series are great psus (and that shows in the price). I have a HX650W myself, 5 years old and 2 years of warranty left, no problems so far...

edit interesting, the current hx650 is 80+ gold certified with peak eff of ~92%, mine is bronze with 87% or so it says on the box, so they have done some changes to it over the years. Still has a 7 year warranty so that's a good sign :D

I figured as much that it was gonna be your PSU. I had the same problem with my low-end SuperNOVA 750B. I didn't know that the PSU had that very big problem of just buzzing noise. The B series from EVGA is just very bad. But when you get that new PSU report to us if the buzzing goes away. Just a question though, how much is SuperNOVA 750G2 in your country? G2 series form EVGA is one of the best PSU's in the market. They are made by Super Flower and can compete against Seasonic's X series. The good thing is, G2 series are much CHEAPER than other gold series PSU.
