First at all I am brand new here and not very sure where this thread should go. I am not good at PCs, how to fix this and this problem etc.

I have the PC on title, it is about 4(?) years old so very old. No changes done to any parts.

To the problem;
this is probably the fourth time my Dell is doing this, at every other time it has gone on after some minutes of trying, but now it just keeps flashing amber light and beeping six times. According to "How to troubleshoot the XPS 8500" it says six beeps means Real Time Clock failure. After googling for like a half an hour I haven't found any topics where someone had six beeps, but five or four instead.

I have not contacted anyone, as I decided to ask here first.

Thank you for any help, and sorry if this wasn't the right place to ask.

Hello hicom,

My name is Shrikanth and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. 6 beeps indicate video card failure. If you have installed any video card. Please try reseating it and check if you are still getting the same error. YOu can find the manuals in this link http://dell.to/1lTHx4p punch in the service tag you will find the manuals.

Thanks and regards

Search up the beep codes and see if there are any spaces in between beeps. If there are, (more than 2-3 secs of silence) then count it as a seperate beep, such as beep beep *pause* beep beep beep *pause* beep *silence* should be treated as a beep code of 2, 3, 1. Hope it helps!
