I have a FX 4100 and 4gb off ram, i am getting a gtx 970 (Asus strix i think is the best choice) I know that the cpu and ram is a very bad bottleneck but how bad will it be until i buy a new motherboard set with 8gb RAM and i5 4690k....Games i want to play are like GTA 5, Dead Rising, Any Cod...Just games like that, All games 1080p until i upgrade and then get another 970 for 1440p gaming....I would like to play games at high ultra but i don't know how bad the bottleneck is...:(

Thanks, Also i know there are websites to look for games and it will tell you the minimum requirments but does anyone know of a website where i could right in my specs and it will tell me what games i could play?...

It'll limit the 970 in so much as maximum fps but the fact is you'll still 100% be able to max graphics settings on any game & play it.

Your 4gb ram IMO is a more limiting factor with new titles than your CPU.
Look at upping that asap.

To be honest I don't think you're going to get an accurate answer. Toms cam be something of a parrot kinda site sometimes, where people just repeat things they've heard before. If somebody says your 4100 will bottleneck a 970 ask them if the've seem or run test with this combo, or they they themselves have a 970 and a more powerful amd cpu. If they do and it bottlenecks, them you may have something to go on.

Pretty bad compared to an i5.

in you are playing on upgrading your system soon, you can buy the GPU now and if you get any bottleneck. you can play at lower setting until you upgrade, or if you are not sure that you will upgrade soon and you don't have urgency n getting a new GPU you can just wait and upgrade all components at the same time. Bear in mind that the new AMD GPU is almost released.

Not sure how bad the bottleneck would be, if any, but your CPU is better them the minimun required to play GTA V:

And it does seem to hold up pretty well in most games

hey, for 3 weeks I build, gtx 970 + i5 4460.
I tested many games, and I am actually bottlenecked from the cpu in some games: for example in crysis 3 in the big corridors or in welcome to the jungle level, my cpu usage shoots up und gpu usage breaks down which result in 30-50fps depends on where and when.
Also in h1z1 in the wilderniss I have 80-120 fps with view distance 2000m, In cities I get 40-60fps. Here I seesame happening, gpu usage breaks down to 40% and cpu usage shoots up in sky! If I turn view distance in cities to 1000m I almost always stay in 60-80fps range.
This also could be cause of bad optimized games but peoplewith better cpu´sand same gpu report no problems like I experience them (except for crysis3, looks like everybody have problems there).
BF4 for example I have 0 problems, always above 80fps with all max no matter the situation around me.
I don t know the cpu u have but I think with this card a very strong cpu is best. I thinking already if I should sell the i5 4460 again and maybe look for a xeon or i7 non K version.
