I am planning on building my 1st PC soon and i need some help. I've been thinking about overclocking the FX-6300 to about 4.5Ghz for a while now and i think that i want to go through with it. What i'm wondering is, if I got a Cooler Master Seidon 120V ver2 on to the CPU would my EVGA 500W 80+ bronze certified ATX power supply be able to handle the OC? I've also got a random question about AMD's turbo feature, if i OC it to 4.5GHz and the turbo is at 4.4GHz will it be slower when i play games?

If needed, this is the rest of my build -
CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Graphics Card: GTX 670 or 680 Graphics Card
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Case: Zalman Z3 Plus ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
(all together using 362W of power)

Agreed. Just like nobody buys Sandy Bridge CPUs from intel anymore, why should we continue to buy FX CPU's that are just as old?

I could probably stretch to £500 - £550. I'm going to go onto PcPartPicker and try to put together a COMPLETELY new build, can you recommend a Mobo, PSU and CPU for it? By the way, i'm not plannig on playing all the new 4k games, just random steam games and maybe a bit of Skyrim or something.

Thanks for this, in pcpartpicker I changed to UK and it comes up to around £524 at the moment, i've moved up my budget to about £500 - £550

EDIT - I forgot to mention that I swapped the case for a Zalman Z3 Plus and swapped the HDD for a Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB HDD to leave me a bit of budget to spend on either a CM Seidon or a CM Hyper 212 EVO

DOUBLE EDIT - I also changed the CPU to MisterSprinkles suggestion of a Intel Core i3-4160
