My Friend Owns a Late 2010 Alienware Aurora R2. He has been upgrading it over the past month, and replaced the graphics card recently. Today he has gotten 2x4gb RAM sticks [ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314 ] . Whenever he removed the previous 3x1gb sticks and replaced it with the 2x4gb sticks, it continuously crashed/froze at the windows loading screen, and fails to respond until he reboots the machine. He has tested each Module individually, and tried them one at a time, each in different slots. We have access to the manual and it does nothing to help. We tried modifying the rams speed in the bios, but are unable to. With one stick of ram in, a beep code of 4 (RAM Read/Write Failure) occurs, but this does not occur when both sticks are in. We have reset the Bios using the CMOS Jumper, and it still does nothing. The only thing we haven't tried is updating the Bios, but on Dells website the bios was only updated once, and not to fix any ram compatibility issues. Thank you for your time.
