Hi,

so here is the thing, what do you think I should do? I currently have i3 3210

Option 1 ) Buy the i7 3770 which will cost around 360 USD in my country but will keepy my Mobo H61HO as both have the same Socket type with my GTX 750 TI

Option 2) Get the i5 4590 which is around 240 USD and buy new compatible Mobo for around 90 USD with the same video card?

So, its around 30USD difference but which one is better?

thanks.

its lagging on some games, and I dont want to change my GFX now cuz its a gift and its new, is it worth the upgrade of the CPU?

What game specially? I know civilization is heavy on the processor and less heavy on the gfx card. other games, tend to be gfx card heavy. I7 would give you a solid upgrade, and definitely a bit of performance increase. Generally in gaming, I5 is the best value for performance CPU. I7 is still the absolute winner (valid in the intel 3000 series). getting an I7 now may also mean you will not likely need to upgrade your CPU for another extra year, compared to getting I5 like Josephe Degarmo suggested. I think I7 is a worthy upgrade, and you can always change the GFX card later if you like. Mobo supporting lower TDP does not really mean you can not upgrade, it just mean you need a solid cooler. Get a strong aftermarket cooler and you will be fine. I ran a 125 TDP cpu on a 95TDP mobo, with a powerful aftermarket cooler.
