So a few days ago i started noticing frame drops while i was gaming. At first i thought it was a one time thing but it started reappearing more often, so i did a little research and i could not find the answer for my problem. The only thing i noticed was that my ghz of my processor dropped and my fans started to blow less heavy. (i have checked my power saving setting, and even tried to cool my pc with a large fan... none of it worked) i hope that someone could help me with this :)

Just to further reassure you I used to have an 8350 paired with a Gigabyte 990FXA UD3 and had the exact same problem as you. I upgraded to an ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z and it solved the problem. It's a little pricey but many agree it's the best AM3+ board you can get.
could you explain a little more about what you did?

use MSI afterburner, leave it running in the background when you game, when it start to slow down tab out of the game and take a look at the graphs. see if you're being RAM starved, your gpu is maxed out or your cpu is being maxed when it happens.

download hw monitor, and leave it running too. check out the max temps as well

if your motherboard is hitting 72C you're probably being throttled by the motherboard, if the cpu is hitting 65C your cpu cooler isn't good enough and your cpu is being throttled.

did the tests with afterburner cpu usage was mostly around 100% except when the frames/performance was dropping then it lays around 20 or less. The cpu temperatures where around 60+ degrees celcius

yes i am using a cpu cooler from be quiet, +the computer was pre build so the motherboard shouldn't be a problem i think, i have made some changes like the cpu cooler and a new graphics card and thats it.I haven't had this problem in the two years i have had this pc

Have these problems started since you fitted the new cooler ??

The pro 3 has fairly weak vrm's - a tower cooler removes secondary cooling that is supplied when using a flat blower cooler like the and one.

I would drop into bios & disable turbo core/boost to see if it makes a difference.

It is a poor motherboard that is very prone to thermal throttling as it has poor phase power. ASRock uses cheap components. Crappy mosfets, weak chokes etc..... A real motherboard is a ASUS SAbertooth 990FX R2. That ASRock board is cheap for a reason. It is a poor board. Good feature set but poor electronic components.
