Hello all,

2 days ago I had my first crash playing Counter Strike (midgame) and I just restarted and thought that it might have been a coinsidence... The next day I get two crashes in two separate games/matches and I am getting worries, but didn't do much at the time. Now I am getting the crashes ingame and 2 outside of the game (more frequent now).

I have set my PC to collect crash and I have two files to do that. One of the files is .dmp that I found in C:\Windows\MiniDump. I cannot do much with it because it is filled with strange letters and isn't much use. The second is an XML file found in \Appdata\Local\temp\wer-...
The second one is a bit more useful. I opened it up in Excel and can see it shows me drivers and services up until the crash.

Using the information given, I would really appreciate any help regarding this. All these crashes are very unexpected and I don't remember really doing anything before it all happened.

Thank you for your time,
Narzer

PS. Have a nice day!

Solution
remove the various overclocking drivers listed below, see notes on the other driver. Retest for failure and provide another memory dump if you bugcheck.
-------------
the collected minidump file shows the entire stack as zeroed out so I can not see why. You would have to change the dump type to full or kernel memory dump to get a clue what was going on.

I can still look at basic info:
you were runing csgo.exe Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

drivers:
Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility Performance Tuning Acpi Control Driver
AcpiCtlDrv.sys Tue Jul 17 10:07:16 2012

This is a overclocking driver. Remove until you figure out your system crash.

Can you provide a screen shot of the minidump? something along the lines of STOP 0x00000000 (0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) gv3.sys

Also try going into the event viewer in control panel, administrative tools, you can then view the recent dump file and it should flag what errors occurred

In the event viewer, goto applications then on the right hand pane you can filter current log to time and to show errors only which is what we want to find

edit: applications under the windows log on the left

The BSOD viewer didn't show any errors, but I was finally able to use the events viewer. I found the time when the system crashed (critical), but right before, there were no errors for 3 hours. After that there are lots of errors where services an drivers stopped working because of the shutdown, but I am unable to pin-point the cause of the shutdown...

a bugcheck 0x1e with all parameters of zero would be invalid, maybe indicating the call that places the values did not complete.

was your system overclocked at the time?
otherwise, a look at the actual memory .dmp file might help, put it on a server and post a link if you want it looked at.

No, my system wasn't overclocked (pretty sure it wasn't, but there is a chance it could've been by OC Genie by MSI) and at least isn't now.

Do you have anything like RivaTuner /EVGA Precision/MSI Afterburner installed, try uninstalling them.

Also could you list the complete specs please?

Install the latest drivers for your graphics card too.

I have Afterburner, but I don't use it and the settings are default. I am currently installing and new Graphics Driver. By the way, I haven't had a single crash today. I am pretty sure I didn't change anything that could've affected the crashes...

I would remove this: (until you figure out your machine problem)

update this if you can (or remove if not needed):

Thank you very much for a detailed rundown of all programs possibly causing the crashes. Seems like you spent quite some time on this, so thanks again for your time. I will look into this and if anything new I will make sure to get back to you.

Have a nice day!
