Reboot and Select proper boot device -- I have no clue what I'm doing.

So I've built my rig, and I'm trying to install Windows 8.1. I made a bootable USB drive for windows with Mac's boot camp application, and my windows 8.1 installation disk. I believe I've done that correctly, and from there I have no clue what to do. I plugged in the usb and booted my computer, and all that shows up is the black screen with the blinking underscore, and nothing happens when I click on my keyboard or mouse. When it isn't plugged in, all i get is the "reboot and select proper boot device" message. I either can't enter BIOS, or don't know how to. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

just a suggestion (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/362182-31-reboot-select-proper-boot-device-error)

When you start the pc you keep pushing either (depends on the brand) F10, F12, F2 or (F8 not sure if that is the boot menu but the others are) else try the link. :)

Else we need a little more info;
What Brand your motherboard is

you should have some tabs that you can to with the arrows on your keyboard;

if you switch over to the boot tab then you press enter
when you in the tab you should be able to select the different kind of boot devices :)
(usually they some long names but in those names there should be a little hint like "HDD" then its the harddrive and when it says "USB" its usually a USB memory device.
