Hi, I am really, really bad with computers, so I was wondering if this cpu I might get will actually help my computer or would it be similar speeds. This is the cpu I want to get (if you know any better ones for around this price let me know) http://goo.gl/B7fRfk, and the cpu I have now is Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Dio CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.3GHz full specs: http://goo.gl/75PeKx

Thanks for all your guys help, without you I would have made some really stupid decisions....

A 2.33GHz Core2Duo will be a significant if not severe bottleneck in most semi-modern games.

Even simple games like Diablo 3 were CPU-bound on my 3GHz Core2Duo E8200. Of course, a GT210 is not going to win FPS contests either, so you really need to upgrade both for best results.

Oh! If you wanna play minecraft, get the 50 dollar processor you listed earlier, its very powerful, but at the same time you will need a new system build.
Tell me if you need a partlist.

* We haven't even discussed the GRAPHICS at all. Getting a better CPU won't make much difference if he has crappy graphics like the Geforce 210.

You're probably much better off getting the best graphics card you can afford.

relative performance: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/R7_260X/26.html

You won't get the same score but the relative performance of the GPU's remains the same.

Stores: http://pcpartpicker.com/

For $105 (rebates?) the R7-260X is a great card. Unfortunately the performance quickly drops off below $100.

I didn't see a budget, and I'm not 100% sure your specs are as advertised but from what I understand you have integrated Geforce 210 graphics? If so, I think the R7-260X is the best choice.
