I bought a pair of nice EVGA GTX 970 display cards thinking I'd set them up as an SLI pair.

Doesn't work, silly me.

Nvidia control panel under Windows shows up as two individual cards and that's the end. I've switched slots, tried two different SLI connectors in both SLI card edge connectors. Nothing. Two individual cards.

850 Watt Corsair power supply, ASRock Z97 Extreme6 MB.

Is there something UEFI that has to be done?? Can't find anything, anywhere.

This is bizarre, something out 1990s "plug and pray" era.

I spent upwards of $800 on display cards and I expect to just plug them in and use them. At this point it looks like I'm going to have to start selling stuff off on eBay to recoup some of the money I've wasted on this nonsense.

Does anybody have a way out of this mess??

That was it, thanks, I took the M.2 SSD out and things started to work like they're supposed to. I still think there are enough lanes to support the M.2 device as well as SLI. But my batting average has been pretty poor of late.

I won't be experimenting with that M.2 thing anytime soon.
