Hello, I first built my computer a few month ago with only 4gb RAM. I bought the same exact RAM in another stick of 4gb (XPG Adata) and installed it. Ever since my computer takes longer to start, the screen glitches out, and my mouse doesn't work a lot. When I first stuck the new RAM into my computer it was off but it was still connected to a power cable. I turned it on and the screen wouldnt go on. The light on my mouse was blinking but the screen was black. I powered it off, unplugged the cable and tried again. The screen turned on but everything was weird and wasn't working right 100% of the time like it did before. Please help!

Mobo and CPU should be fine for the DRAM but would need the actual model #s of the DRAM - if both are XPGs try setting the DRAM to 1600 and the spec timings, then set DRAM voltage to 1.55 and the CPU/NB voltage to 1.2

Should be able to get model # w/ CPU-Z free Windows app, look in the SPD tab next to part number, but can try the settings I suggested and see how that works

Can only guess here but prob different generations and using different memory ICs, may not be compatible

The Best bet is a package of two sticks - that way they have been tested to play together, any time you mix DRAM it's a crapshoot if the sticks will play together, you could get a stick of the same identical model you currently have and they might not play together either
