Computer powering on and waking from sleep by itself

I seem to be having a problem with my desktop computer. The computer seems to be powering on or waking up by itself with no input given to the computer.

I have read other forum posts related to this issue, and the only answer I found is to make sure the "Wake on LAN' option is disabled in my BIOS setup. This option is not enabled.

I have also made sure that my computer cannot power on with the keyboard or mouse. All that can wake up or power on the computer is the power button. Even with the settings like this, my computer still powers on or wakes up from sleep. It's really annoying having the computer turn on in the middle of the night and wake me up.

If any suggestions can be made please let me know.

Thank You.

I'd check your RAM as well, as it can cause sleep issues if it's unstable for some reason. What OS are you running? I'm asking because if it's Windows 8/8.1, a shutdown is more of a hybrid sleep of sorts. I came across this type of issue recently myself, and after some research, it appeared to be caused by me adjusting my timings a little to far w/ the voltage I was using.

The only way I can see that causing it would be if the mouse is moving around a bit when that's happening. I know that you don't have to click the mousebuttons for it to wake up the PC, just moving it can do it. However, you said it was disabled in settings. Also, do you have an ErP setting in your BIOS/UEFI?

Is "Wake on Magic Packet" turned off in the properties of your wireless or wired network adapter? Vibrations can cause it to wake up too though. When i put mine to sleep if i bump my desk enough to move the mouse, even just a tiny bit, it will wake up.

I have never seen a "Wake on Magic Packet" in my BIOS or Wireless Network Settings. And the mouse is absolutely positively not enabled to wake the computer from sleep so it is not the mouse.

Wake on Magic Packet is the same as Wake on LAN.

Go to start and type "Computer Management", then device manager. Under Networking adapters right click on the one your using and go to properties and then advanced. Look for "Wake on Magic Packet" towards the bottom of the list and make sure its disabled.
