hey so im looking to build a more up to date gaming pc and i have all my parts picked so far apart from what psu to get and what wattage i should get, i have picked a gtx960 to go into my system but i want to put a big enough psu in the new rig to cover sli if i buy another gtx960 at a later date.

i was thinking possibly a 500watt/550watt psu should be enough?
oh and i already have a cd-drive and windows 7 ultimate 64bit

A 500w power supply should be fine, there are plenty of calculators online you can use (http://www.coolermaster.outervision.com/) but you can always go up to a higher watt to make sure it is fine and can handle future expanding

Yep, I knew that. My bad; Typo. None the less, it is amperage/current available continuously on the +12V rail at 50C that is important and that psu has 44 amps on the 12V. The power requirements are suggested for a system using an i7 4xxx CPU and is for the Entire system,not just the video cards. The video cards themselves will only draw, at Maximum power 100% usage about 10amps each (20amps total) {120Watts max per card = 240 watts. 240/12 = 20 amps}. That will leave more then 1/2 of the power for the rest of the system and accessories.

If you want to play around with a power calculator, this is one of the more accurate ones I have found;
