My FX-8350 has idle temps. around 40 degrees C & while gaming (even a non-demanding game like Styx: Master of Shadows) the temps. go up to 70 degrees C while the max. temps. recommended by AMD are upto 62 degrees C... I have already replaced the stock AMD cooler with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 X ... what might the problem be? :(
Thanks in advance. :)

Solution
Many intakes and one exhaust. Make sure you have decent cable management.. Read more about cooling and fans this is the ultra short edition ;-)

It did shut-down once when I had my PC connected to a surge-protector.. it doesn't do so, now that I have the plugs connected to individual sockets & not the surge-protector.. when I touch the cabinet while gaming, it's super-hot... when I touch it while idle, it's pretty cool.. so I guess the readings may be right...

Do you have good case air flow? it is important with fx (nuclear reactors) :) mine goes from 20- 58 celcius with same cooler and cpu

The answer I was afraid of. :pfff: I don't know the first thing about air-flow.. hmm.. gonna have to get expert help.. thanks! :)
Are you sure though that it has got nothing to do with BIOS settings or anything? I've read a few things about them.. I mean I didn't touch those at all... are you supposed to? :(
