thing is with evga is the older designed cards are the ones with 1 or 2 in the part nimbers like 04G-P4-''2''978-KR

the cards wit a 3 are there newest designed cards with the ''better parts'' as with this 97o ssc+ or there ftw+

http://www.evga.com/articles/00892/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-970-SSC/

so I would try to stick to one of them [opinion]

Well damn it, oh well. It just has the updated ACX Cooler? oh well. I upgraded from a GTX 560ti.

I am totally going to stop looking at newegg. because every time I do, I begin to regret which card I bought!

$319 dollars a bit of cash when you have toddler in daycare. Anyways they ACX 2.0+ card is bit more expensive :(

Yeah, I would have to cancel my whole order and start over on newegg.com because of the way I did it.

What a bummer.

also has updated vrm's and all [gen2 6+1] -- then I guess there cheaper cause there older cards

old style with old 4+1 vrm

also one more thing is the [+] cards has a internal full plate that cools and acts as a back plate does .. but you se a lot of reviews from folks complaining about no back plate-- not needed on these full ridged plate under the cooler

evga is doing a poor job prompting these things on there newer cards and folks don't do there homework on them to see the differences /changes made

Don't wanna waste my step up

Yeah, I would definitely exchange that card for an SSC+ or FTW+. Those card have much better cooling and power delivery. Step up to the FTW+ if you can afford it...

I think the scc+ if you resolve the coil whine with it will do you just fine I just don't see the backplate and the slight bump in the clocks to be a big issue over the price difference - if you get a even exchange from newegg between the 2[the one you got now and the scc+] I think its a fair deal and you'll be happy

I don't see why evga would not work with you for the scc+ with out costing you that stepup ? they know what the score is on the 970's and been treating folks fair .. seems like a straight exchange to me the old whining 970 ftw for the newer ssc+ seems they would be ok with something like that ???

Yeah the sc is $329 at Newegg when I bough it. The SSC+ is $349 at EVGA.

Now the sc is $349 at Newegg grr. I tired tondo the swap. If the next SC buzzes I will start to press the issue.

$20 gap + shipping w/step yay. If I go that route.
