So i have tried to look at the compatibility of SSDs with different laptops and for some people it works and some it doesnt. My laptop has a 2.5" HDD and i want to put an SSD in it, but don't know which ones are compatible and also buy a Caddy to substitute the CD Drive for my old HDD.

Anyone tried it with different brands of hard disks that are not toshiba, and offers suggestions? thank you

Hey AlanRT. Generally you should be OK with whatever SSD you get. They are like HDDs and are supported by all motherboards that have SATA ports. You might need to update the firmware of the SSD, but other than that, replacing an HDD witn an SSD is not that different from replacing an HDD with another HDD. Here's a video on how to do that for your model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svTUrXrAa1U
As for the HDD caddy replacing the optical drive - this is a pretty good idea, just search for "Toshiba satellite L750 caddy" on the web and you'll get plenty of options. Basically this is the best combo for a laptop with only one HDD slot and an optical drive.

Good luck with your new setup and please keep me posted. :)
