if you plan on playing 1080p resolution ultra settings, this will max out every game:

i7-4790k
gtx 980
z97 chipset motherboard( preferably asus)
16 gb 1866mhz cl9 ram
650-750watts PSU with at least silver certification
850 evo samsung ssd 250gb( System+favourite games)
2TB WD 7200rpm for all other stuff
coolermaster case
h100i watercooling cpu cooler

i wouldn't buy gtx 970 sli. i would buy a single gtx 980, or a single titan-x. however if you plan to play on 1440p or 4k resolution go for titan-x, if you play on 1080p resolution go for gtx 980.

It's always better to buy the parts, and build your own pc. You save cash, you gain knowledge. but anyway 1689$ is not a bad price for it, make sure you get an ssd aswell for the system. it speeds things up pretty well

yep i have the gigabyte gtx 980 wf3OC and it performes just as it should. it overclocks well i already boosted it up to 1450/3750 with +15mv.
On 1080p i can max out every game with 60+ fps. i'm totally satisfied with the purchase, temperature is really cool( maximum of 69C ) and the card is pretty silent aswell.
I think it's the best card on the market for 1080p gaming.
