FPS drops close to smoke, CS:GO - semi pro needs help

Hello forum, im playing semo professional csgo and i have a pc problem...
Problem: The problem is my FPS drops a lot when im close to smoke, but inside and on long distance no fps lag..

I've tried launch options command, cfg commands, resolution fix, everything i think - Anybody there can help me?

Specs:
Geforce gtx 660
intel core i5 4670k 3.40ghz
8gb ram
144hz benq monitor

You could replace the smoke texture to be more simple. Or just disable smoke completely.

It's a exploit in single played sadly. Did you try going to the config in the CS:GO folder and changing some particle settings?

sorry for this late respons, forgot i had this, but i upgraded to a r9 290
i have now upgraded for about 3-5 months ago, but it didn't help out on the problem. any other things i can do???

Upgraded gpu and switched brands and still occurs?

Sounds like it is time for a reformat!

Might Just be Game lag, Known problem, try reinstalling the game, It cant be the graphics card, it's unlikely that the graphics card would lag at such a specific part of the game. If the problem consists after reinstalling contact steam. Report the problem.

its not like only when im close to smokes, but really generally lags when i play and my fps reach 200-250 but yea, the problem shouldnt appear

Huh.. Interesting, Have you tried Uninstalling it and reinstalling? Sometimes just a download issue

didn't really help, but its a big problem for me, when im playing some turnaments - last week played a 2000$ turnament, not that easy with som lags..

It may be because you just barley meet requirements.. Id say Upgrade, Especially if you enter in tournaments

Also, when i cap my fps to like 150 (im playing 144hz so i only need 144 fps) my games just ultra lags - i can't cap my fps in games, without lagging.

You have to upgrade your graphics card maybe, i have several of my high techy friends trying to look into your issue

if you've already switched GPUs then the problem isn't your graphics card.

Then what is it, ive changed ram also. After Christmas im changing psu case and cooler, Lets see if that helps

When you upgraded windows, did you do an upgrade or l clean install.

If a clean install, did you redownload csgo, or use a copy that was located on another drive?

10 atm, but i'll do clean install after christmas with windows 7 - but before w10 the problem still lasted
