I run windows 32 bit, and 4gbs of ram. It currently says I have 2gbs usable which I suspect is due to the 2gb graphics I have installed and that windows takes some memory as well. Can anyone tell me why my ram is so low?

System specs
AMD A8
EVGA 2gbs DDR5 Vram
Corsair 4gbs stick 1600mhz
1tb hard drive
windows 32bit
Asrock moboard

Thanks for the help

Your graphics card memory does not use up any of the normal memory in your computer unless you are using Intel graphics. This should not be happening and I suspect that you have a faulty stick of RAM.

For instance, I own the EVGA GTX 750Ti 2Gb and I have 16GB DDR3 RAM. Task Manager shows 16GB RAM available for me. A 2GB graphics card does not reserve 2GB of RAM, it has its own physically separate RAM.

He has one stick of ram....And using on board graphics was what i understood last evening but looking at that post it says evga ... my suggestion if its really one stick of ram is make sure your on board graphics are turned off in bios and your plugged into the video card and not the motherboard graphics.
