I heard that when you use the Asrock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 Socket AM3+ ATX with 8-core CPU's, it wont give full performance. I don't know if this is true but I wanted to get this mobo, since it was in a bundle with the fx 8320 with this mobo for 139.99 at microcenter. Please let me know if it is good or not and let me know if there is any other mobo you recommend (preferably one of the other bundled mobos http://www.microcenter.com/site/products/amd_bundles.aspx) I dont want to spend too much and I don't want to go overkill. Thank you in advance.

It's not the best if you plan on major OC'ing of the CPU. But the board has 4+1 phase power and heat sinks on the VRMs. It will do some OC'ing w/o damage to itself. If you don't OC. then there's nothing wrong with it.

It'll work perfectly fine, but as clutchc mentioned, don't overclock. To be safe i would add a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO to cool the CPU, as there are no heatsinks on the VRM's/MOSFETS, and make sure that your power supply supports an 8-pin CPU power connector.

It's a budget board; it'll work fine as long as you use common sense. Good luck with your build.

I found a motherboard on Newegg that shares the same name, but does not include heatsinks on the VRM's. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157364&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

That's the "Pro3", not the "Extreme 3". Easy to get confused.
