Current Build:

i5-4570 @ 3.2
Asus Strix GTX 970
Asus H87-M MOBO
8 GB Ram ADATA
Power Supply of 500 watts

I really want to get a second 970 but i'm not sure if it's worth the upgrade (at least for now, since I eventually want to move up to 1440p) since I know i'll have to upgrade both my GPU and PSU, or should I get a SSD (yet my computer boots in 7 secs, give or take)

I don't think its worth it, to buy another GTX 970 just yet. You are paying quite a big amount for another GPU that isn't necessary to max out in a lot of games. I would advise wait a bit longer until GTX 970 starts to fall behind and you want that boost.

You should hold on until you notice that the games you are playing can't get high settings at 40-60 fps. The 970 is a beauty, so I think you could hold on a little longer before you buy it. Don't get me wrong, SLI is a great thing to have, but it is a little overkill...
