I use bsnl broadband connection via an ADSL wired modem of BSNL.It works perfectly. However when i connect the ADSL connector in the WAN port of a newTPLINK wifi router which i have recently bought it is not detecting the ADSLconnection wire and the WAN port is not blinking. However the port is detecting connection provided by alliance broadband which i checked from my neighbour....I even tried changing the IP from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.2.1 but its not working.. Its reporting a problem regarding IP conflict after the change.....What can be done?? please help.

Is the TP-Link router also a DSL modem? You didn't give us a model number.

If not, it's not going to work. You need a DSL modem. I'm not sure from your post if you have a modem that you are connecting to the router, or just the router and a DSL line you are trying to connect to it.

You might just need a new ethernet cable.

You also need to restart the ADSL modem once the new router is connected.
