i am currently building a new pc and I have decided on the following specs:
* i will be gaming, doing multimedia stuff, programming, editing videos, and will most likely use it more than 12 hours a day.
CPU: i7-4790
MoBo: h97 pro gamer
Storage: 850 evo 250 gb and 1tb caviar green
Ram: 8gb 1600mhz corsair single
gpu: gtx 970
case: cougar army
my problem is with the PSU as I am in a tight budget but also want to have a quality build.
If i take the ax650 (which is recommended based on the reviews) I would have to downgrade the cpu to i5-4690; on the other hand, if i take the rm/cs versions I could still go on with the i7 but as I had read bad PSUs can damage the components and the rm/cs version are mediocre ones.
what do you recommend me to take?
*i'm not overclocking as my cpu is not a k version
do i need a UPS? or can I just plug it directly to a socket?
thank you, have a nice day

another question, can I still downgrade any of my components to save money without realizing significant performance decrease?

PSU experts like the B2 because it is actually built using a gold certified platform (the Superflower Golden Green), but EVGA did not pay for gold cert so you get to save a few bucks while having an excellent PSU!
look online see if cosair r line of cases or there special ops cases are on sale. micro center sells them with rebates a lot of the time. if your local to a micro center they have the lowest cpu prices and combo deals.
bronse power supply are fine there just no as well energy effecent as a gold unit.

any of these units will last a long time in a work pc. ups used if your in an area of black outs or unclean power. it keeps your pc parts from burning out if the power in the home goes to low or too high.

You really need to get some fresh air and sunshine.

The RM and CS are not mediocre. They are very good power supplies. The CS has reviewed very well since its launch and the RM just had a few growing pains that are largely behind it.

That is a pretty hard to beat value, IF you actually follow through on the rebate.

Except this has absolutely nothing to do with why "experts" like it. Its just a very good power supply.
