Hello,

I currently have one GTX 670, is it worth upgrading to SLI 970?

My speccs:
CPU: Intel i7 3770k (not OCd)
GPU: ASUS GTX 670 (I might have a use for this in another build)
MoBo: ASUS sabertooth z77
PSU: Corsair TX 750W 80 Plus Bronze
          12V Rail: +12V - 60 A (These amps should be enough?)

A 750W is used in this build with similar setup (kick here)
CPU fan: Noctua NH-U12S
RAM: 16GB dual channel Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz
Storage: 120GB Intel 330 SSD 2xWD Black 1tb Raid 0

My plan:
Longevity for 1080p 144hz, buy a 4k monitor later.
I have 2 additional systems I can use my spare 670 in eventually:

System 1 (connected to my tv for gaming with controller)
RAM: 8GB
CPU: i5-650 stock
PSU: 500W
GPU: gtx 460 oc or the gtx 670

System 2 (planning to give away to my cousin, or use as a webserver/MCserver)
RAM: 4GB
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 oc I think @ ~3GHz (some time ago I fired it up)
PSU: 460W
GPU: gtx 460 oc or the gtx 670

Is my plan feasible? What do you think?
Any advice is good

Just to add some info after the fact:
It works great!
I can max out both GPUs w/o any problems.
It also runs flawlessly in 3D mark

Solution
Yes, a good 750W which you have is plenty for SLI 970s. Mainly because the 970 is efficient with it's power.

If you going to want to run 4K in the future, you won't be able to max out games with SLI 970s, but they will be playable.

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Any clue how much the i5-650 will bottleneck the 670 if at all?

Also, can I run
ASUS GeForce GTX 970 4GB DirectCU II BLACK
with
ASUS GeForce GTX 970 STRIX 4GB DirectCU II OC
SLI?

Reason I'm asking this is because they're both on offer, but only for one of each.
I'd save 190 USD

Hello!

Your i5 670, depending on your resolution, should not bottleneck your 670. Only if you going to push a resolution above 1080p, then you might have a slight bottleneck. But at 1080p you should be fine.

As long as they are both 970s then that SLI config will run correctly.

Enjoy you systems! Hope this helps!

Thanks yet again!
I'll only play on 1080p on the 2nd rig.
