I have a WD My Passport Ultra portable HD. I plugged it on my computer, it made sound it makes when a USB is plugged in. But it's didn't appear on My Computer. I tried plugging it into another USB port on my laptop. Again, it was recognized, it appeared on My Computer but it doesn't have any info below it. It does vibrate tho and the light blinks, which I think indicates that it's working? But I can't open it. When I tried to scan it, it says that USB not found. Is my drive broken? Is there a way to fix it?

I hope you can help me.

Thank you.

Welcome to the community, confusedHDowner!

I'm very sorry to hear about your WD My Passport Ultra drive! :(
I'd suggest you to test the drive using WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics utility. Make sure you pass the quick and the extended test, and let me know what the SMART status shows. Here's a link to the software: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=W8uR3D
Have you tried the drive on another computer or using a different USB cable? If you haven't, I recommend you to do so.
Another thing worth trying is re-installing your USB drivers. Just go to Device Manager and uninstall them one by one, then reboot and let Windows Updates re-install them. Afterwards, try connecting the WD My Passport again and see how it will get detected.
Here's a tutorial about that one as well: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff553572%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

Keep me posted!
