Cooler master seidon 120M liquid cooling
Msi 970a - g46 motherboard
2 x 4GB DDR3 Corsair vengeance
Corsair GS 600W psu
Msi r9 270x 2GB GDDR5
1.5 TB Hardisk

50-60% on a good day is the boost from Crossfire. Did it with HD6850 cards and that was what I got. I had no noticeable issues.

I wouldn't compare a 6800 series cards to 7xxx or Rx series. The Crossfire scaling improved greatly with the newer generation GPUs. It's closer to the 80-85% mark now. That is what I observed with dual HD 7950 GHz ed. cards in crossfire, which = R9 280.

R9 270x is like an HD 7870. It should crossfire quite well. Just update drivers and make sure you download the crossfire profiles with the drivers. There's 4+ crossfire modes and AMD has done a great job tuning modes that work best between games.
