Any Bottlenecks occur when Combining i5 4690k with two or three gtx 970 SLI?

The CPU is good enough for 2 or 3 way SLI. But, stuttering can also occur if the game is not well coded for multi GPU setups, independent of the CPU. It's not common in popular AAA titles though. Make sure to get a capable enough motherboard which can support 3 way SLI.

It entirely depends on what cards are out in the market with what potential, SLI 970 can manage extremely good FPS in maxed out AAA titles on 1080p and for some cases 1440p as well. Hopefully it will continue doing that for atleast the next couple of years.
