Hi, please help a newbie
I have a tp-link wd8980 as main broadband router (dual band N600) Computers happily tell me I have 300Mbps when connected at 5ghz.
I've now picked up an Archer c2 AC750 which I've wired LAN-LAN to act as an access point/gigabit switch upstairs. As a switch works fine. However, when I connect devices to the 5ghz channel on this one (which is supposed to have 433Mbps available) I'm only getting max 150Mbps even though router is in same room as devices. I know I won't get AC speeds, but don't see why it is half of the N600 and was expected 300Mbps again like main router? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated?
NB: I only have wireless N devices (mac, iPad, roku 2) but thought as I wanted to go this route an AC router would also be future-proof rather than just getting another wireless N one.
Thank you
