Opinions On Gaming PC Part List

I am saving up to build my first gaming PC. I put a list of parts together, and I want to make sure all the parts are compatible and if all of the parts are good. I would also like to know how it will handle some games like Battlefield Hardline, Dying Light, and a few older games too like Skyrim. Here is the list of parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Linkin506/saved/hrMD4D Also, I would like to know if the monitor (I know it is a TN panel, but the reason why I chose TN over IPS is because this monitor has zero ghosting, I am fine with the picture quality, I have seen videos on it and everyone who has it is happy with it), keyboard, and mouse is good. Thanks guys!

Edit: Before anyone tells me about the CPU, I know about the "k" version of the CPU, but I decided that I am not going to try over clocking since this is my first time building a PC.

Nice choice on the keyboard and mouse! The monitor will probably do you just fine. Here's a better version of the build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YFLKRB. It cuts down on the unnecessary and adds an SSD. It will also have better temperatures.

what is the difference between blue and the one I have? I am newer to PCs so I don't know too much, I didn't even know there was a blue g.skill memory :p

Motherboard is blue and black. Video card is color neutral.

Outside chassis has red highlights.

Usually go one or the other and try not to mix them. Doesn't matter from a functional point of view.

G.Skill makes a lot of ram with blue heatspreaders, as well as black. Red, Blue, Black are the common enthusiast part color choices.

You'd drop the CPU speed from 3.5 down to 3.2 and then downgrade from a solid H97 board to the bottom tier B85 board, just to put in a ssd? That's just stupid. Keep your build the way it is yankeesfan1207. It's better than this one.

ok, and what I was thinking was adding an SSD sometime after I build my PC once I learn how they actually work.

oh ok, now I see what you meant. I thought you meant blue was more powerful than the one I chose or something like that, I didn't realize that it didn't match with the rest of the parts, I will look for a different color. The reason why I chose that one was because it was one of the highest rated g.skill memory.

My advise would be to spend your money on the core components of the system now. I would ditch the expensive mouse and keyboard for a cheap microsoft keyboard/mouse combo for like $20, and use the savings to get an ssd and 24" monitor now. Save up for the other keyboard and mouse and get it later. It's more important to get the best parts for the tower that you can afford now.

Thanks! I was actually just doing some thinking of waiting to get the keyboard and mouse so I can get an SSD now and a few better parts, thank you for the updated list too! I will do some research on SSDs now since I don't really know too much on how they work, but I do know that they make your system boot up and run faster.

You'll want to put your OS and games on the SSD and use a regular hard drive for bulk storage of photos and videos etc...That's why it's important to get the SSD now since you don't want to reinstall windows again later on. The Samsung 850 EVO is the best one for the price right now.

How do you think this will handle games like the ones I listed above and a few others?

The CPU and GPU should be great for gaming. I would also seriously look into getting an SSD right away to install Windows on (speed up boot times, load times for games, etc.)

I would also consider going with the k-version of the CPU. Maybe you won't overclock right away, but you'll have the option in 2-3 years when you know more (and you may want to extend the effective life of your CPU).

Once you build -- if you find your stock CPU fan is nosiy, you may want to upgrade to an aftermarket CPU Cooler, such as the inexpensive Hyper 212.

It will max out games on high/ultra at 1080p easily and last for years.

Thanks, I will probably look into adding more fans in the case since it is able to hold a few to keep it quiet and cool, and an aftermarket cooler for the CPU sounds smart too, since I am on a budget kinda, im just going to stick with the stock cooler, and I will think about the k version CPU, you did prove a point how I might learn to OC then I will have it ready to do it, but I am scared of ruining the whole thing :p but since the k version is a few dollars more, I could look into it, but it depends. Also with an SSD, I think I can get one since I know a bit more about how it works.
