Trying to upgrade from phenom ii x4 965 to fx 8320

when i put in the fx 8320 computer does not post, memok lights stays blinking red, but the computer works when i put in the phenom ii x4 again, so i thought maybe the fx processor was bad so i tried it with my old athlon ii x3 and athlon ii x2 and still no post. It only post with the phenom iix4, if downgraded, and upgraded the bios to the most current. Reset the CMOS a million times. switched what location the graphics card was in. Took out ram and place each one separately and together in multiple locations. and still can cant get it to Post with any other cpu other than the phenom ii x4, i am out of ideas and extremely pissed off considering I dropped over 100+ dollars on a new processor and it does not even work ! any help is appreciated PLEASE!!!

CLR_CMOS

your bios is applying your PHII settings to your new cpu. CLR_CMOS and try with the fx8 core.

I've had this same thing happen before with Asus motherboards before.

have you updated the bios recently?
make sure it has the most recent bios.

have you tried holding the memok button down?

yep ive updated to the latest one 2501, and downgraded until it wouldnt let me anymore just to check . The weird thing is it boots fine with the phenom but does not work with the fx or the athlon or any other processor i try it with. WHy does it say i chose a solution when i haven't even solved my problem yet?

how are you clr_cmos?

you have the whole system unplugged? you have the jumper in place? you pulled the battery out of the motherboard?

you left it like that for 5+ minutes?

cause if you have all i can say is double check for bent pins on the 8320, and if they're all straight, the it must be a bad chip. I know you can't get it to boot with the other chips. i don't know what to say about that. I just know in 25 years working with motherboards i've never seen a broke motherboard/ram work with one cpu and not another. which means it's either the cpu or bios. I've had your problem before a number of times, and it was always fixed with a proper clr_cmos; or with a newer ASUS board sometimes this issue was solved with the memok button.

-is your kingston ram supported by the motherboard/cpu?
-have you tried another psu?
that's the only other thing I've got at this point.
