Hello,

I am looking to purchase a new graphics card, but when i look at my mobo, it appears that i would have to move my HDD and Optical Drive sata plugs to the sata ports below the ones i have them in now. Would there be any harm in powering off and unplugging my pc and just moving my sata ports to a different plug number without having to change boot order or configuring bios.

my motherboard is an MSI 760gma-p34 (fx)

(My sata ports being used are sata 3 and sata 7 and the ones i want to switch to are sata 4 and sata 8)

I am a huge noob on building. I've read other forums on how this somehow messed a computer up. i only have one boot drive. would it matter if i plugged it into another sata port and it would be recognized as port 0. i almost have no idea what all of this is. i almost have no idea how to configure the bios as well
