Hey there,

I just bought a 2014 Dell Inspiron 3867 (Core i5 4460, 8 gig of ram, 1 tb hdd, Intel HD graphics) and want to upgrade the graphics card to a PNY Geforce GTX 750 TI OC. Link:

Now I know that the GTX 750 TI was specifically designed for OEM desktop upgrades such as this with a required PSU rating of 300 watts. However, this specific model requires a 400 watts supply with a 20a 12v rail, my Dell standard PSU can only put out 300 watts and 17a.
I've read that PNY often overstates the requirements for its graphics cards. Also, this card doesn't require a 6 pin connector to the PSU so I don't see why it would need such a high power output.

I was wondering if anyone has actually tried fitting this card into a Inspiron 3867 with standard PSU and whether it worked well or not.

I'm kind of on a budget or I would upgrade the PSU as well of course, so I'd be really happy if someone could confirm that this combo would work without issues.

Thanks!

I think you'll be fine, the card can't take more than 75w from a pcie slot, is guess that the total system draw would only be around 165w max, that's only 55‰ of the power supply. I know in built power supplies aren't known for their brilliance, but I think it should cope fine
