gtx 970 with 120 gb ssd and 1920x1080 monitor or 980 with no ssd and 1600x900 monitor

Solution
OS on a SSD makes a huge difference, I was blown away when I upgraded to an SSD
Games on a SSD dont make any difference besides loading times but OS does
Also I would go with your first choice, 970+SSD+1080p monitor

don't go 16x9 monitor, ive used that crap for years and am not amused. Such a useless thing. But it's up to you whether you want to go with a 970 with an SSD, but to tell you the truth if the game's not hosted on the SSD it won't matter too much whether you have your OS on an SSD or not.
