Hello, I'm hoping you can help me. We have a pc that is now only giving a beep code error, no screen.
Its a gigabyte motherboard and according to gigabyte http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/faq-page.aspx?fid=816 its either a graphics card error or an agp error (and as far as i can tell that doesnt make sense).

We have just replaced the graphics card with a new psu. and then the ram.

we're running out of ideas now. It makes 1 long beep followed immediately 3 short beeps. Frustratingly we managed to get it working , and then the screen just went black but it was still powered on.

the original specs were
amdfx 6300 black edition
gigabyte ga 97a ds3p
8ggb ddr3 1333mhz
500gb s-ataIII 6gb
amd radeon hd 7870 2gb
550w corsair vs
zalman z3 plus case.

And we replaced ram corsair 8gb 1600 mhz,
amd r9290 xfx , corsair cs850m

Probably a motherboard issue

If you tried switching out the GPU and RAM, I would say motherboard issue.

How long have you had this motherboard?

A year? We've just swapped another graphics card into the machine and it loaded up. Not perfectly but i think we could get it working. Might tske some time. That means its the new graphics card is faulty maybe?
