Right. So I plan to build a HTPC that can play games *decently well* - By my standards, decently would be getting 72fps on tf2 with graphics ramped to the minimum since it's made for a home theater not a gaming PC but I'm kind of foncused with the processor i should get.
Here's my plan.
CPU: G3258 Anniversary edition (probably a slight OC)
GPU: Radeon HD 5450 (i have one of these lying around already)
PSU: FSP Hexa 500 if i'm not wrong.
RAM: DDR3 4GB
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
Casing: unconfirmed
So I'm wondering whether to go with the i3 4160 or the G3258? I don't know what those 2 extra threads on the i3 give me as opposed to the G3258, since when you OC the G3258 it should outperform the i3 in terms of benchmarking numbers? Why would I even consider an i3?
Thanks in advance!
