Turtle Beach PX22 Microphone Plays Headset Audio

The problem is that my PX22 headset plays both my computer audio (YouTube, games, etc) and my voice through my mic. Friends that I have talked to on Skype have confirmed that this is not an audio leakage problem, as any PC audio that I play is very loud, and continues even when my mic is muted using the included amplifier, even though they can no longer hear my voice. I have been having this problem ever since I got this headset. I believe it to be an issue with the USB being used for both the mic and headset audio signals rather than the front audio jack and USB being used separately, as the headset doesn't have any sound when the USB is unplugged with the front audio jack kept plugged in. I also have a Logitech Z323 speaker system plugged in to the back audio jack, (I use my headset when I'm on Skype and in competitive games such as CS: GO, but the rest of the time I use my speakers) so that may be causing some issues as well. If anyone has any advice for me to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar issue, if you are using the skype windowed program (not the tile application if using win 8.1). First click on tools, then options. In general, go to Audio Setting and set your microphone to "Microphone (Turtle Beach PX22)" and do the same on speakers. Your microphone may be set to your audio instead of your PX22 by default, as were mine.

Yeah, I have the PX22's as well, and I seem to have the same problem. My friend could hear me listening to music and youtube videos (although couldn't hear me chat through the mic) when I had muted the headset. Quite weird and a bit awkward. I have the Logitech Z523 speakers plugged into the back, similar to you.

I fixed it by making the PX22's not the default audio device. Make the 2nd output headphones/speaker (whatever it's called) the default device and the default mic should be the PX22 headset mic. This way the headset isn't going to mix up the audio and mic signals.

This should be clear if I wasn't:
