New Motherboard for i7 3770 (non K)

My school technician recently transferred my Lenovo K430 PC into a new Corsair 500R case.

Specs are:

i7 3770
16GB RAM
ASUS GTX 770 2GB

The motherboard works in the new case, but it seems that the motherboard uses proprietary connectors for USB3 and HD audio. Should I get a new motherboard and RAM, what do you recommend? Is it worth it?

This is used as a gaming machine.

What motherboard should I get?

I said to get one from eBay. I gave you an example and worked out what to buy - ATX size H67 mobo. You should also look on Amazon UK.

How about ASRock Z75 Pro3?

You pay more for Z75 and Z77. I'd just get H67. No use paying for an overclocking motherboard if you don't have an overclocking CPU.

Looked at the H67, it doesn't seem to support the 1600 MHz speed RAM that I will use.

Get ram per your new motherboard spec. If possible get it from the mobo Memory Support List. See the mobo webpage.

Its a Micro ATX and its Z77.

If you want Z77 try ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 (my son has one and has had no problems)

My guess is that the Windows 8 you've got is the original OEM version that was put on your Lenovo. If that's the case, you'll have to buy a new version.

Yes - it helps get you away from depending on Lenovo. This allows much easier future upgrades.
