Building new computer, do I need a cpu cooler if I'm not OC'ing?

So basically this is my first time building a Gaming Computer and I have no idea if I'll need a cpu cooler for my i5 if I'm not going to be overclocking. And all I plan to play games wise is GTA 5, when it comes out, Battlefield Hardline and CS:GO, so I'm not sure if ill be able to run these games at fairly decent settings without my room being excessively heated and my cpu overheating. If needed I can respond with my specs.

Although technically you don't need to, as the CPU will come with it's own cooler, it's not a bad idea to get something cheap like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, just to keep your temps down in general which will help improve performance.

It's really not necessary, I would put that money into good case air flow which will keep your cpu cool anyway

An aftermarket CPU cooler will help reduce the system noise. Plus it will drop the CPU temps.

But is it absolutely necessary ? No.
