Audio Randomly stops working

So this is my pc currently: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/
I recently upgraded to my gtx 960, but after installing it, what has been happening is im playing or listening to music and then out of nowhere the sound stops working, itunes wont even play because it says something is wrong with my audio setup, when I restart the computer everything is fine again, so why does this happen and how do I fix it?

If they says they're working properly but they actually aren't then there could be something with the audio chip or with the audio or usb port that you're listening through. Or the speakers/headphones that you're using.

Try different ports. Try different headphones or speakers.
