Not sure if it will be compatible before it arrives.

Hello everyone, I bought a 4GB Kingston HyperX Blue yesterday. I didn't know it would be 1866 Mhz because my mobo only supports 1600 Mhz. I was hoping I can lower it's clock speed so that it can be coompatibpe with it. Will it work that way? BTW, my mobo is an Asus H61M - K

A lot depends on the CPU. it's the MC of the CPU more than the mobo that determines what you can run at, if this is your mobo:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H61MK/specifications/

It shows support through 2200, initially when first installed it will boot to 1066 or 1333 depending on BIOS, then you can try raising the data rate to 1600 or 1866

Yes it will. Most motherboards support memory overclocking, and even if your mobo said it supports 1600. When you load up memory it will load as 1600 and not use the 1866 profile.
