Hi

I recently built a new pc, march 6th

I went for the following

HyperX FURY Series 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 1866MHz CL10 DIMM Memory Module Kit - White

Crucial CT256MX100SSD1 256GB MX100 SATA 2.5 Inch 7mm SSD Includes 9.5mm Spacer

ASRock Mod 1150 Z97 Extreme4 ATX Motherboard

Intel Core i5 i5-4690K CPU (Quad Core 3.5GHz Processor, 6MB Cache, Intel HD 4600 Graphics, Socket H3 LGA-1150)
Corsair Builder Series CXM 600W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU

all was working well but i wanted to upgrade my old radeon hd 7770 to the gtx 580.

so i uninstalled ati drivers turned pc off and unpluged power. i then installed the new gtx 580.

once installed the pc would not power up, no lights on the mother board at all.

i have taken it all apart and rebuilt, i have tested the psu works.

but still it wont show power to the motherboard.

i have read on a few threads that this has happened to other people however the solution is not always explained clearly?

any suggestions of how i can fix this problem?

not sure what the buttoms on the mob do, their is a switch one that goes from A to B? should i touch this

their is the power button and reset button, also next to the reset button their is a clrcb button?

NOTE the usb works on the case in which motherboard is pluged into ( i can charge my phone from )
Thanks

hi i tried all that to no avail.

i now have another motherbaord (replacement).

its all plluged in - the gpu

i press the switch and the psu fan spins but the cpu fan does not and the motherboad does not power up.

is their any way to test the 8 pin psu connection to the mother board. this is a new psu and it was working fine.

my old psu only has a 4 pin.

really frustrating. thanks for any advice

I got it working, but then noticed only 4 gb ram rather than 8gb.

I tried the various windows software ways of fixing this to no avail.

w7 64 bit i am on.

it showed 8 gb before i got the replacement mother board.

because of the ram problem, and in order for the m board to support my processor i upgraded the bios to the latest version.

now when i have done this it does not give me any screen at all. the pc turns on but no screen with the gpu in or out.

i have then decided to reset the bios using the clear cmos button.

this did not work.

i then moved the jumper from 1 & 2 to 2& 3

still it only powers up to show no screen. the keyboard caps lock lights dont come on or off even tho the m board looks on.

i tried taking the m board battery out and putting it back in, still the same.

could the cpu be causing this ? any suggestions what to try
dr debug codes 15 then 53. tried no ram tried 1 ram tried both ram al same result tried cmos with all possible combinations, still nothing. this all occured after bios update

psu works fine, that has been check, i used old psu as well to double check. sending both as rock motherboards back. One has died, the other has corrupt bios. i have this now

ASUS Maximus VII Ranger

working fine straight away with no problems

Thanks for any advice
