Hello Forum,I'm looking to build a pc for a 1000 dollars.
Is this a decent build:http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mtMQYJ
Is there any thing I could improve?

Solution
what platform do you like? AMD or Intel? do u have any experience with one of them?
with 1000$ you can buy a really nice system.
whats is more important, the look or the performance?
i will prefer you R9 290x, but 280x is also perfect. i will recommend XFX r9 280x black double dissipation edition.
"Finally, as a Double Dissipation product the 280X DD is covered by XFX’s lifetime warranty policy, contingent on registering the card within 30 days of purchase." i have it. its absolutely silent.
i would buy 16Gb RAM and even more Frq. and a 256 or 128 SSD for windows.

Yes, it's a good build, though for 1000$ I would want my system to have an SSD.... maybe spend a little less on the case? Other thing I noticed is that you picked a VERY budget oriented PSU.... never cheap out on those, get a quality 550-650w unit like this one http://www.amazon.com/XFX-650W-SERIES-WIRED-BRONZE/dp/B0045L5LGI
Other than that, unless you don't plan to overclock, you're set!

Case is too expensive (unless you specifically want it):

get an ssd cache drive like the crucial adrenaline (what I have). speeds up a lot if your just on a hard drive. will you be burning cd or dvd these days? thumb drives man. my PC hasn't had an optical drive since 2009. If I really need it I share my laptops drive on the network. Staples will price match with amazon, save the shipping on the drive and pick it up at a local staples, bring in the amazon ad. my monitor is an led TV 50 inch Emerson wal-mart black Friday deal, my advice: get a larger TV with a PC input, gaming on a 24 vs a 32, no contest 32 wins. Emerson I know crap brand but I doubled the screen real estate for 60 bucks more and it games beautifully.

Your build looks good, personally I think you are way overspending on the case, but it is pretty. just a quick question how much time do you spend at your PC JUST looking at the case?

Give it a look, half the price of the other case, and you can get the cache drive in budget now.
60 saved on the case, 4 on hard drive shipping, 14 on optical 78 bucks for a cache
heres a 32 gb for 45 bucks:

just my 2 cents
I have used the evga power supplies for many clients and have had no problems, budget does not mean crap however from the video card specs page "750 Watt Power Supply is required." so I would suggest

59.99 after rebate, so you'd still be in budget.

I have experience with intel.
Well to me looks and performance are both important and yes I have found a cheaper case to buy that looks equally as good. And I forgot to put my buil in Canadian dollars.Thats the reason the build has changed:(

MB and RAMs have almost no deterioration. almost all RAMs have life time warranty. buy them used in ebay;).
but MB only ASUS. dont go with cheap taiwan shit(gigabyte) or asrock.
i had many of them and over 90% always problems. they have several revisions for a simple Mb !!!! and still beta Bioses.
once asus, always asus. the warranty, quality, service. top. but nowadays everywhere are mass production, what decrease the precision of the quality.
izzi ;)
Gigabyte and corsair have most RMAs.
Asrock is for me sth like biostar, foxcon or other cheap shits.

I can attest to what he says about ASUS, my rig has been running for three years on a open box newegg ASUS mobo.
RAM is more likely to die due to electro static discharge, less than you can feel can kill/damage a chip. I will only buy new RAM or CPU's for that reason. The piece of mind is worth the extra money.

even if the ram damged by elec discharge, you have life time warranty or if u get a DOA ram from an ebayer, then u can use ur "buyer protection" by paypal. i had almost never problems, or solved it easily. i got 16gb corsair 1600 for 80$ last week. perfect.
