Hi guys, getting a new laptop from work - below are my options within the budget.

Primary uses are Science orientated (analysis being the CPU heavy stuff, programs like SPSS, PRIMER, R etc.).

Secondary use is Photoshop.

Thirdly I want to start using music and video editing software - this is where I need some help choosing my options as I'm new to it and don't know what's best.

Hope someone can help me a bit!

My gut is that Option 3 is the best machine, but there isn't a way to put a dedicated GPU into it - so am I going to regret this later? Or are macs just inherently so much better for music/video that it is? (never used macs). How much does SSD improve things?

OK I'll stop rambling. cheers -GT
