Hello.

My motherboard is Asus Z97-AR, it supports 8-pin EATX CPU power.
My PSU is EVGA Supernova 850W G2 and it only has 4+4 EPS CPU power.

Are those two components good to go?

Is it okay to plug 4+4 EPS into an 8-pin EATX mobo?
Both are 12V.

newer power supplys broke the 12v 8 pin eps cable into two parts because a lot of the smaller atx mb were coming out with 4 pin eps ports and causing home builders to have 1/2 of the 8 pin eps cables sitting over the mb. the newer mb eps cable can be one or two parts. there key'd so they only go in one way.
