hello everyone! i've a question. my pc used to boot in desktop correctly even a few days ago. then a BSOD happened & from then on i need to press enter at every boot. i don't have a password & i tried 'netplwiz', unchecked the box that says 'users must enter a password' or suchlike, applied it, rebooted the pc, even tried some registry tweak, but nothing happens. it always comes back to the button on the boot screen & everytime i need to press enter. plz, help me. it's driving me nuts. is there a possible solution? if so, plz let me know. do i have any other option except a fresh installation of windows? i use windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. thanx to all.

what is the error at post?? is the error asking you to select an os?? or is it saying over and over that last boot failed please run defrag or the os in normal or safe mode?? if it select the os the under msconfig see if the os=0 if it says os=1 then change it to 0. myself i would run memtest make sure your ram is fine then back up your personal data and then wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows. there comes a point if windows kills itself from damaged files or bad hardware your better off nuking it and starting over.

there is no error. it simply shows me the button with my admin picture & then i need to press enter. i run disk defrag regularly. os is in normal mode. my RAM is 8 GB & i usually don't perform any heavy duty task like gaming etc. also, my pc is newly built & there is no problem in the device manager.
