I am planning to buy a GTX 970 soon, and I am pretty unsure as to whether my PSU is capable enough to handle the GPU.

I am thinking of buying either of the three variants of GTX 970 given below:
Asus NVIDIA Strix GTX 970 4 GB 4 GB GDDR5 /
MSI NVIDIA Gtx 970 Gaming 4g 4 GB GDDR5 /
MSI NVIDIA GTX 970 4GD5T OC 4 GB GDDR5.

Have been using an Sapphire R7 265 without much hitch. Listed below is the details of my PSU pulled directly from the website:
iBall Marathon 500W Peak
Features : Mesh Shielding: ATX 20 4 pin main power cable with mesh shielding
Rails: 12V rails
Cable & Connectors: High quality cables & Connectors

performance of high-speed logic circuits.
High quality FAN: High quality 12cm cooling FAN for heat vent
Transformer: Superior quality transformer for better reliability
Ultra Ventilation: Ultra Ventilation structure of metal casing for better cooling
Electromagnetic Interference: Significantly better EMI wave filtering circuit for
higher stability
Rectifier: High quality rectifier circuit converts both polarities of the input waveform
to DC (direct current), and is more efficient
Output Watts : 500W Peak Output
FAN Size : 12 CM
SMPS Chassis Colour : BLACK colour chassis
Cable Length : 52 CM
Cable Gauge : 18 AWG

PCI-E Connector
On/Off Switch : Power On/Off Switch

can someone please advise if the PSU is capable enough to pull the cards I listed above? I wont be Over clocking the card too much, so that wont be an issue. But is the PSU powerful enough for normal gaming using GTX 970?

First of all I suggest Gigabyte or MSI gtx 970. Second NEVER buy a psu when it says peak. You need to see the continous power that it enables. If it says only peak that means it will give 500 just for a moment, and on daily basis it gives much less. I would suggest an XFX 550.

If you have a PSU with very good quality, 500W should be able to run a GTX970 but a bit to near the limit.
iBall Marathon? Never heard of it. I think this is a cheap and bad brand.
I do not think this 500W PSU can run a GTX970.
and...yeah..you need continuous 500W not 500W peak.

It is best if you upgrade your PSU too, if you want to go for GTX970.
Seasonic, XFX, Rosewill, Antec or any good well-known PSU brands will do just fine.
And, get something a little bit more than 500W if you can, so...550W like suggested above is good.

Any of those 3 GTX970s are good, you can not make any mistakes with them.
My favorite is however MSI 4G and Gigabyte Gaming G1.
Galax GTX970 EX OC is also not bad and quite cheap here where I live.
The brand Galax is also known as Galaxy or KFA2.

Thanks, I am thinking of getting Corsair VS650 650 Watt PSU along with the GPU. I hope that's good enough?

Thanks for your response, however, I have heard mostly of the MSI variant. The Galax one...any specific advantages?
