Computer is running super slow recently. Help!

Components:
Geforce GTX 760
i5-3570k @ 3.4 GHz
8 GB of RAM
1 TB Seagate Hardrive (Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162)

I think the problem is the hardrive because when I try to launch a game, my disk read speed goes to 8.5 KB/S. I am planning on grabbing another 8gbs of ram soon so I have 16gb. My graphics card and cpu shoul last me another year or so right? I'm pretty much just asking what I need to do to speed it up, thanks in advance.

hadn't used the computer for a week or so because I had been at my other house but as soon as I came back over it has been running really slowly. My brother said he was using Lightroom and the last time I used the computer it was to play Path of Exile. When I logged on I started to download World of Warcraft and when it finished downloading I started to launch it and it ran slow so I checked task manager and my disk read speed was down to 8.4 KB/S constantly. (What is a good disk read speed?)

Depends on the disk. Mine is somewhere between normal HDD an SSD. I suggest you download a hard drive health monitoring tool to investigate the problem.

And back up anything you can's spare. Better safe than sorry!
